Example Seven:
In this scene, Gerald is trying to convince her that she should let Angel take the ballet lessons. He mentions that they had paid the rent that month and that Monique should give the money to pay for her lessons. (A whopping $50!)
In this example of heroism, we can see that Gerald doesn't want Angel to be sad. He knows how much the lessons mean to her, so he tries to convince Monique. When Monique agrees, it is obvious that Angel is thinking "Gerald, my hero!"
